QIT-99 target and points
John Daub’s KR Training compilation specifies a QIT-99 target for the January 2019 course. Fifty scoring hits give one hundred points; it lists ninety points for instructors. The smaller reference boxes are not higher-value scoring zones. [1]
Safariland’s CADRE Dispatch gives eighty points as the agents’ pass mark and ninety as the instructors’. [2]
The QIT-99’s paper is 23 by 35 inches. Our printable is a course checklist for it, not the target itself. [3] [4]
Ten timed strings
Each string is timed separately. The first divides six shots between the two hands. Later strings change the start position, include a reload or combine standing and kneeling. The table lists the published conditions. [1]
The individual firing limits add up to sixty-three seconds, but each string has its own limit. At five yards, the two three-round strings allow different times because one starts concealed and the other at ready. [1]
| String | Distance | Rounds | Published condition | Time limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 3 yd | 6 | Concealed start; three dominant-hand, then three support-hand hits | 6 s total |
| 2 | 5 yd | 3 | Concealed start | 3 s |
| 3 | 5 yd | 3 | Ready start | 2 s |
| 4 | 5 yd | 6 | Ready start | 4 s |
| 5 | 7 yd | 5 | Concealed start | 5 s |
| 6 | 7 yd | 8 | Four rounds initially; ready start; four hits, reload, four hits | 8 s total |
| 7 | 7 yd | 5 | Ready start | 4 s |
| 8 | 15 yd | 3 | Concealed start | 6 s |
| 9 | 15 yd | 3 | Ready start | 5 s |
| 10 | 25 yd | 8 | Concealed start; four standing and four kneeling | 20 s total |
Scores by string
String scores identify points lost at each distance and under each condition. Our checklist has a row for each string, with boxes for its hits and points. [1] [4]
January 2013 and January 2019
The same compilation’s January 2013 course uses sixty rounds and one point per bottle hit. Its instructor threshold is 54 of 60; the 2019 threshold is 90 of 100. Both are ninety percent, but the courses and raw totals differ. [1]
| Published edition | Rounds | Possible points | Instructor threshold |
|---|---|---|---|
| January 2013 | 60 | 60 | 54 / 60 |
| January 2019 | 50 | 100 | 90 / 100 |
