Training: drill videos and printable targets

Shooting practice for your next range trip: short videos of published drills, targets to print at home, and two guides for getting started.

Drill videos

  1. Accelerator Drill

Twelve rounds across three distances, with a reload halfway. Ben Stoeger published the Accelerator to practice changing pace between near and far targets.

  2. Bill Drill

Six shots on one target, usually at seven yards. The Bill Drill records the first shot, the intervals that follow and where all six rounds land.

  3. Blake Drill

Two shots on each of three targets at seven yards. Ben Stoeger compares the six-shot Blake Drill with a Bill Drill to examine time spent changing targets.

  4. Casino Drill

Six numbered shapes receive one through six shots, for twenty-one rounds. Tom Givens’ Casino Drill combines counting, target changes and two reloads.

  5. El Presidente

Twelve rounds on three targets, with a reload between two passes. Jeff Cooper’s exercise includes a facing-away start; published scoring methods differ.

  6. F.A.S.T. Drill

Todd Green’s six-round F.A.S.T. uses a 3×5-inch box and an eight-inch circle at seven yards, with a reload between the two groups.

  7. Hackathorn 3-Second Head-Shot Test

Nine rounds across three targets at five yards. Each three-shot string has a three-second limit and a different target order; the published minimum is seven hits.

  8. Mozambique / Failure Drill

A three-round paper-target sequence: two hits in the larger body area, then one in the smaller upper area.

Printable targets

Each prints on US Letter at 100% (Actual size), inside a home printer’s margins.
